My cat is about 3/4 years old. She is fairly small, as far as cats go, healthy and athletic, and weird recently. I've been coming home and I've seen her pretty much anywhere, looking around at a speed that grants her a 180 degree sight-angle, and generally being weird. Weirdest, she doesn't complain much when I pet her during this, but she's usually pretty darn antisocial. Any clues on what might be causing this? I don't know how long it's been going on, I noticed it yesterday.

Is she in heat?

She's spayed.

Hmm...well, maybe she's just going through some hyper phase...either that or she's got a hookup with some grade A catnip.

I don't know how to tell you this, but...

it sounds like your cat is probably gay.

My cat could very well just be hyper. I thought she was calming down, though. Oh well.

My "wife's" cat (we have 7, but Sally is all hers) is like that (she is only 2 years old). She misses her mom! I usually get home first, and she meets me at the door and wants a kiss (yes a KISS!). I can tell when my wife gets home as she starts bouncing all over the place!

My cat doesn't greet people though, as far as I can tell. She usually runs into some dark place. Maybe that is it, though.

Except for the total lack of a puffy tail, I'd say that there has been a stray around.  Mine get like that.

She's an indoor cat. If she saw another cat, she'd be in hiding for a long time, or so evidence suggests. Her tail used to puff up occasionally, but it hasn't in a long time.
