Listen to Erathoniel ranting on and on in good ol' conservative Christian fashion.
Oh How I Wish I could put this in Religion, Science, and Misc., but it's more science baed.

Did you know that 90%-95% of mass in the universe is unaccounted for? I believe that there is no mass (or else God is the mass), and God is holding the universe together with his wonderful salvation giving hand.

Prove me wrong, I dare ya'.

i AM in the weird position of having gone back and forth on religion all of my life.  Lately, after some astounding experiences and dreams that convinced me of the spirit world.  Oddly, God came to me and it was like he was demanding I write a book.  At the time I was a hard core atheist, and writing purely kind of sick humor....  Then, this Jesus voice erupted from me, a CHrist Consciousness or something...  I would never have thought to try to write in the voice of jesus, because it just seemed too daunting for my talents.  Then, bam, inspiration hit.  Now I have two books out of the entire experience.  God and Jesus are both real.  Jesus has lived life after life and all this other stuff in my new book....  which I am not plugging, because I am actually giving away copies of it for free until I get all of the final junk done to the manuscript.  At which point they will go back on sale.   I would love to hear what a christian thinks.  If you want to check out the blog where I am writing the book on line, go to http://wakingupjesus.blogspot.com    There is a link for the free downloads....

Praise God and all that.  Big Love.  Keep reminding people of the spiritual.

I encourage everyone to read the site stealthyone posted. If you are a rational human being, it's truly enlightening as to just what effect religion can have on humanity. It's clearly had this effect on stealthyone. Go with open eyes and see just what religion can do for you.

Ockham, no need to be so harsh. You don't have to be a jerk just because someone disagrees with you.

Sorry, variable gravity or Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) has been theorized before and it is gaining acceptance, but neither dark matter, energy or MOND has been observed yet.

I wasn't speaking of variable or anti gravity specifically, merely using it to describe what I was thinking. I am not quite sure if it would fall in MOND though, I'll have to look into that sometime. The kind of force I am talking about wouldn't be observable except at intergalactic distances.

Don't fret much though the Nobel Prize isn't what it used to be.

Yeah, I know what you mean, apparently making a movie can get you one. I wasn't all that serious anyway, it was more of a passing idea. I leave the serious contemplation to the guys with more than 2 semesters of physics.

You know, there's almost a theory for everything that is intentionally unprovable. And I'm talking science, not religion here.

Hello,

There is a Quranic verse which speaks about the original big bang:

“Do not the Unbelievers see That the heavens and the earth Were joined together (as one Unit of Creation), before We clove them asunder?” [Al-Quran 21:30]

I have another interesting scientific discovery about cosmic hamers, you can see it in my blog! wonderful!

Well I never understood why physics couldn't work for this explanation. A molecule, a solar system, galaxy, cluster, or super cluster, what is the difference it's all gravity.

One way this may work is special relativity. Basically speed changes based on perspective makingeverything appear to be going the same speed. Our solar system is moving faster than the planet. Apparently the bigger you are the faster you move, also the bigger you are the harder it is to see. The theory is old, but I believe something like this.Every timee they feed information into the computer about evolution and the big bang, even biased information it says can't be done. And they call believing the opposite science.

Good to see a thread dragged up from the 'anals' of time, incorrect forum placement as it is....

I realised that the estimated mass in the universe is probably based off the big bang theory. If we were created, and this did not happen, but instead god created a smaller, but expanding universe. Then the amount of mass inthe universe may be different than the estimate. IIs the big bang model they can't get to work in a computer.
