Listen to Erathoniel ranting on and on in good ol' conservative Christian fashion.
Still wondering about my theology?

Welcome to the second rant on my theology. I'm gonna go straight to the good stuff. This one's a tad shorter.

    6. Heaven: I believe that Heaven is both a place and state of mind, and that as finite beings we are not meant to know much about Heaven or Hell.

    7. Walking away from Salvation: I believe that it is possible to lose one's salvation by turning from God, but He will forgive us if we turn back to Him.

    8. Holidays: I believe that holidays and the Sabbath are to be taken as days of rest and celebration, and kept holy and unprofaned.

    9. Sin: I believe that all humans are born sinners until cleansed by the mercy of Jesus Christ. Sin is anything that keeps us or others away from following God.

    10. Financial Status: I believe that financial status is nothing before God's infinite power, though He does mandate a tithe to keep His church going through rough times and to help with the needy. It is also a ceremonial repayment of what God has given us.

Which day of the week is the Sabbath?

I think you thought this through well, but not quite far enough. See, I think there's more to it than to keep the church going through rough times and helping with the needy. Basically, you're turning it into church-tax, which is not what it is.

Where you spend your money is where your heart is. God wants your heart. He asks only 10% from you, but it represents the whole when you give it. It means that all your money belongs to Him, you know that, and that you will do with the rest as He would have you do, just as you did with the 10% what He would have you do.

The Sabbath is no particular day of the week, just one. Saturday or Sunday recommended.

Yeah, the giving back is a way of thanks. I was rushed for typing and didn't wanna write everything out.

You're rather simple way of putting things makes it interesting.

Yes, it's true we very little about Heaven. One thing that's fascinating at least to me is that we know there are degrees of happiness in Heaven.

In some ways, I think we know more about Hell than we do Heaven. ..probably just as well.

Like the word "Hell", "Heaven" is of ANglo-Saxon derivation and most probably means "the abode of the Godhead". the abode of ANgels and the souls of the just, and the dwelling of God.

Pastor was just talking about it, how are deeds will either be rewarded, or we will 'suffer loss' because of them.

We'll be saved either way. But there's something more than just being saved.

Jewels in the crown. Those who do better are rewarded more, but it's so good just to be saved it'll be a moot point for those without the extra rewards.

Amen to that.

7. Walking away from Salvation: I believe that it is possible to lose one's salvation by turning from God, but He will forgive us if we turn back to Him.

I think this is true and can be supported by reading Eph. 2:4-10. The transformation from sin to grace is likened to being raised from the dead. Once we were dead in our sins, but now are alive in Christ through grace. ANd the reverse process is also possible.

One who is alive in Christ can throw away that gift and (this is the Catholic coming out in me) kill his soul through mortal sin. Since God's grace is a gift to us, we can't boast about it becasue we didn't earn it. God extends grace to us but we are always free to accept it or reject it; free to remain in it or free to throw it away.

Yes, though I believe that mortal sin can be recovered, but it does result in an intense pain to God and thus would be the equivalent of walking away from Him.

I don't know what you mean by sin can be "recovered", but getting past that I think I understand your larger point and agree.

Catholics have the Sacrament of Penance (confession) whereby all sins, whether mortal (grevious) or venial, which we confess and have perfect contrition, and have made satisfaction for are forgiven...

Once absolution is given by the priest and we have made a perfect contrition and satisfaction, our sins are gone as far as the east is from the west...grace is poured into our soul and they are made white as snow..

Yeah, kinda like the Sacrament of Penance without a shiny term.
