I talk about blogging

Blogging is one of my major activities (with about four articles per day at the time of writing, haven taken only one day off for just over a week) that I enjoy. There are a couple things you need to know about blogging before you start.

  • Blogging is not for everyone. You need to be able to take criticism.
  • You can write about anything, but beware politics and religion unless you want a hard fight.
  • It helps to have some people you know agree with you frequent your articles.
  • It helps to cover a lot of topics, so that you come off as a well-rounded bigot.
  • It helps never to smear, and always write positively if you want a good debate and no flaming.
  • The above rule does not apply to political blogging, where the contrary is true.
  • The above rule only applies on occasion.
  • You need to know decent grammar, even if you don't use great writing.
  • Capitalize correctly in articles.
  • Unless the purpose of the article can be stated shortly, make as long an article as possible.
  • Be open for debate. Allow comments.
  • Flag articles as adult only if the content is explicit, not if the topics discussed are distasteful. This lets readers know an article has objectional content, rather than simply covering a taboo topic.
  • Don't use smilies. They are like a plague. You can use them in comments, but try to avoid them.

You can make suggestions if you want.
