Hypocrisy is turning a blind eye to wrongs that should be punished when you punish them elsewhere. Hypocrisy is looking first for other's flaws. Hypocrisy is not judging.
Hypocrisy is a common affliction. It's so nice if we're the perfect ones. Isn't it? But also, consider this. If you, say, write an article on how others write too many articles, then you are flooding out good articles with your crazy nonsense ones. Even if you feel that the flooding articles are weak, are you not flooding out articles with serious opinions with ones discussing idle gossip? Look first to the log in your own eye before the speck of dust in another's.
I'm a hypocrit. I'm not pleading innocent to charges of that crime. But, when you accuse someone, keep it in mind that you may very well be guilty of the same crimes. You give yourself a higher standard, but do you live up to it, or just say that you do?
