I do not believe that personal attacks have a place on JoeUser. I feel that it is detrimental for the service of everyone if people cannot work past their differences, or take it elsewhere, assuming that the other party agrees. I have a place to go to attack me, so it's not necessary to ruin other people's days by making them read attacks here. If they care, they can go there. When you attack somebody on JU, not only do you violate the Terms of Service (which you did read, didn't you?), you a...
When you buy a disk, who owns it? Is it you, the consumer, who paid the money, or is it the company whose software is on the disk? Do you have the rights to use of the software, in exchange for its purchase, or is it an area where the software you paid for is still the company's, therefore you paid good money for the disk and a limited usage? When you buy a book, who owns it? You, the consumer, who paid the money, not the company who sold it. ...
In my opinion, being closed-minded is forcing that other people don't shove their opinions on oneself. However, I have been told by others that this is not, in fact, the case. Apparently, being closed-minded is not converting to any idea that is tossed out in front of you. To tell you the truth, as somebody perfectly happy right now, I'd rather not agree with everything. First, I don't believe that everything somebody else says is correct (though, granted, I'll respect t...
I'm opening up the Video Game Classification Wiki to the public (which means no account needed). What you can do is make an account and a page with your name (real or fake), then put little sections to duel. If it gets off well enough, I may make a public wiki simply for the purpose of fighting with words. Basically it's a way to relieve stress and keep comments from piling up too quickly on poor people's articles (sorry, KFC). Any comments or ideas are appreciated. I'll see you there (you guys ...
January 20, 3058 The woman got up from where she was seated. The room was dark, but she didn't seem to mind. She walked out, into the sunlight. Two things stood out about her. First, she wore a trenchcoat, second, she had a blindfold on. She had chains hanging from her belt, long, heavy, steel chains. They did not glimmer, and they made no noise as she walked. Though she was merely walking, her min...
Several places have abolished the death penalty. However, I find that the death penalty is perfectly acceptable, given 100% assurance. I believe very strongly in the Law of the Old Testament, and does it not say "an eye for an eye"? If one takes another's life, should not their life be taken? Also, all "life" sentences should be changed to death sentences, except for the most heinous cases, in which case, solitary life confinement is a suitable punishment. However,...
Our schools are failing. There is no question on that. However, a good question is: Why are our schools failing? To tell you the truth, our schools are failing because they have ceased to become academic establishments. Instead, they're the great American melting-pot. Personal Thought: Melting down our youth and turning them into nothing. However, are schools meant to be a source of idealogy or a source of knowledge. See, children can only t...
February 7, 2039, Seattle Outskirts Patch raced along the highway out of Seattle, chased by a group of eight uniformed foes. She didn't speak English, so she couldn't ask them, but she was pretty sure the logos they bore belonged to the Humanis Policlub, a radical anti-metahuman group. She, an Elf, fell perfectly into the target category. Her bike groaned with the stress of the high-speed pursuit. The light elf couldn't even risk shooting the ...
I've revieved complaints from people saying that I'm "projecting" or "impressing" my views on them. I know how to project things. You put them in your hand, close your fingers, pull your hand back, open your fingers, and push your hand forward. In some places, it is called "throwing". I know how to impress things. Either you make their jaws drop, or you take a stick or similar object and shove it into a softer, plia...
Act now! Magnetically, kinetically, or chemically operated projectile weapons are a major threat to our society's core! Left unchecked, they may result in millions of deaths before the end of the century. If we don't control these weapons, we may wind up with people dead, dying, or capable of undertaking woodwork projects! It's horrible! These things can kill people! Even the people using or building them!

Go to a public high school and you will find curiculum made to teach "tolerance". In reality, what I find most taught "tolerance" to be is a pile of drudged up drek made to desensitize or demonize those long-standing establishments of moral standards. Tolerance cannot be taught. Children will not learn tolerance by these means, merely the intolerance of conscience. My question is this: Why is it so wrong to have a conscience? I believe that ho...
I am announcing the VGCW (read the title, I hate typing it out). It's new, but its goal is to provide user-generated reviews of games and mods for games. Anyone may join, and have their own user page. I will provide hosting for mods up to 100 MB (1 GB if I really feel like it), and mods 1 MB or less may be hosted on the wiki. I hope to see you there. If you don't join, you can at least read my classifications of games.

Ormgas is an awesome internet radio site that lets you choose a song that multiple people listen to. The song is then rated, and the process repeats. It gets five @'s. I'm gonna say that it's only flaw is its dependence on an audio player and a web-browser for full functionality (I use VLC, maybe other media players have more interactivity). However, it's an enjoyable experience. A definite try. What do you think?
