Listen to Erathoniel ranting on and on in good ol' conservative Christian fashion.

Well, I get popular articles at least once a day, so I figured I might give my thoughts on writing fiction. Mind you that I'm a stinking awful writer. As in I never wrote anything other than one short story worth anything, and I look back on that one as sub-par. Maybe I'll re-write it someday.     First, I believe that in writing you should have a sort of gritty realism. For an example of this, I write below (sci-fi, Battletech/MechWarrior style):  &n...

My cat is about 3/4 years old. She is fairly small, as far as cats go, healthy and athletic, and weird recently. I've been coming home and I've seen her pretty much anywhere, looking around at a speed that grants her a 180 degree sight-angle, and generally being weird. Weirdest, she doesn't complain much when I pet her during this, but she's usually pretty darn antisocial. Any clues on what might be causing this? I don't know how long it's been going on, I noticed it yesterday...

I hate DRM. Seriously. There's nothing more unintelligent than making sure that your consumers have to buy something once for everything they use.     DRM (or CRAP, as I prefer, but is less mainstream, look on YouTube, it's labled something like DRM is CRAP) prevents a user from putting his music, games, videos, or other files on all his devices as he would fairly use, and it's pretty ridiculous. It gets to the point of being a competitive brand loyalty machi...

Ok. I've been playing Tremulous online a couple days now (I like the PureTremulous server), and I decided to write a review of it. All categories are to a maximum of 5. Action: @@@@@ Tremulous excells as an action FPS, even if the strategy slows it down a tad. Strategy: @@@@@ Tremulous takes the traditional weapon/kit loadout and adds building buildings. Way cool. Community: @@@@ Tremulous has a good community, and is easy for newbies. Occasional swearing, but not muc...

Now, I know that the title is incredibly vague. This covers my views on three topics, robotic destruction of the world, cybernetics (define it as you wish, here used to describe unnecesary body part replacement), and pollution/environmental damage/radiation.     We will kill ourselves to go to the next level of scientific progress. And we won't shed a tear about it either. We'll be too oblivious until the world comes to an end.     First, ro...

Now, everyone should know, before reading this, that I am against two things with a vengeance. Abortion, and embryonic stem cell research are major evils in today's society.     Embryonic stem cell research and abortion are similar, yet different. Abortion involves chopping up a baby at some point in its developmental state. Embryonic stem cell research involves removing parts of a baby at some part of its development (before it even forms). Either kill the b...

You can all see my review of Jonah 33 for my music rating system. Here we go!     Universe at War is an epic RTS, and it has a similarly epic soundtrack by Frank Klepacki, the composer for the original RTS's Dune and Command and Conquer. The Universe at War three album collection is free. Mellow: 8- Frank Klepacki's slow, relaxing parts in the music serve to push one onwards to destruction! Deep: 9- The deep music in Frank Klepacki's score makes a very ...

Welcome to yet another politically charged rant.     This time, I will be describing my views on cloning.     I'm not gonna write it in a paragraph, I'm gonna list, to make it easier for all you. Cloning is best used specifically in God's mandated stewardship (rescuing endangered species). Cloning is not to be used on sentient life, that gets to the point of playing God. Cloning is not to be used to cross-breed life. Remember the Mino...

Welcome to a politics free rant. On games. Obscure roguelike games.     Starting from the start. Temple of the Roguelike is a great place to find roguelike games. Here's a URL. Temple of the Roguelike     Guild: Guild is a party-based roguelike where you control four players. Pretty decent, though I'm only good with one character. Guild     Powder: Powder is an excellent roguelike for multiple platforms, though t...

Anyways, welcome to yet another politically charged rant, this one on... politics!     Now that I have the smilies out of my system, let's go on.     I believe that homosexuality is wrong, but not criminal. Just as many sins are wrong, but not criminal, homosexuality should not be banned, because the police have better things to worry about than people's choices in spouse. I do, however, feel that all the benefits of conventional marriage...

I'm gonna start off by explaining my music scale:     I grade over six categories, with five combining to show style, and one working to show quality. Mellow: The relaxing parts of a song. Deep: The exciting parts of a song. Fast: The use of quick speed in a song. Slow: The use of slow speed in a song. Experimental: The use of classic patterns or new ideas in music. Quality: The overall quality, not an average.     I grade ...

Welcome to yet another political rant. People like 'em more than my other ones. Or maybe they get featured more. Dunno.     I'm gonna touch a hot topic of religion and homosexuality. Yeah. Most people can click the red X or whatever at the top right or left of their browser now. You probably won't like what I have to say.    I believe that homosexuality is wrong. God designed sex for totally different purposes than pure pleasure. Homosexuality i...

So beginneth another rant.     Now, there's a hotbed of relgious debate on pen (though I use pencil) and paper gaming and whatnot. Here's my opinion on the matter. Is it clearly fiction?    My opinion is that though many Pen and Paper games tend to stray towards the dark arts and the occult, and thus should be avoided, as long as it is clearly distinguishable from real life there is no problem. Yes, I have seen/heard the propaganda that Dungeons...

I love Audiosurf. It's probably one of the best games ever. You can play it on and on without getting tired of it.     Audiosurf is a next-generation (in gameplay, not performance requirements) high-speed racing action puzzle game which allows you to play as one of over ten characters with differing difficulty and game style as you race down a track synchronized to your music, in pretty much any format you have, save MID and XM files. I'd recommend it for any...
